The Ringworm Children: How the Israeli Government Irradiated 100,000 Israeli Kids

On August 14, at 9 PM, Israel's Channel Ten television screened a documentary film which exposes the ugliest secret of Israel's Labor party founders: the deliberate mass radiation poisoning of nearly all Sephardi youths of a generation.

"The Ringworm Children" (translated in Hebrew as "100,000 Rays"), directed by David Belhassen and Asher Hemias, recently won the prize for "best documentary" at the Haifa International film festival, and in the past year has made the rounds of Jewish and Israeli film festivals around the world. But it had yet to come to Israeli television screens. The subject is the mass irradiation of hundreds of thousands of young Israeli immigrants from Middle Eastern countries -- Sephardim, as they are called today. The story goes like this:

In 1951, the director general of the Israeli Health Ministry, Dr. Chaim Sheba, flew to America and returned with seven x-ray machines, supplied to him by the American army.

They were to be used in a mass atomic experiment with an entire generation of Sephardi youths to be used as guinea pigs. Every Sephardi child was to be given 35,000 times the maximum dose of x-rays through his head. For doing so, the American government paid the Israeli government 300 million Israeli liras a year. The entire Health budget was 60 million liras. The money paid by the Americans is equivalent to billions of dollars today.

To fool the parents of the victims, the children were taken away on "school trips" and their parents were later told the x-rays were a treatment for the scourge of scalpal ringworm. 6,000 of the children died shortly after their doses were given, while many of the rest developed cancers that killed thousands over time and are still killing them now. While living, the victims suffered from disorders such as epilepsy, amnesia, Alzheimer's disease, chronic headaches and psychosis.

That is the subject of the documentary in cold terms. It is another matter to see the victims on the screen.

To watch the Moroccan lady describe what getting 35,000 times the dose of allowable x-rays in her head feels like. "I screamed make the headache go away. Make the headache go away. Make the headache go away. But it never went away."

To watch the bearded man walk hunched down the street. "I'm in my fifties and everyone thinks I'm in my seventies. I have to stoop when I walk so I won't fall over. They took my youth away with those x-rays."

To watch the old lady who administered the doses to thousands of children: "They brought them in lines. First their heads were shaved and smeared in burning gel. Then a ball was put between their legs and the children were ordered not to drop it, so they wouldn't move. The children weren't protected over the rest of their bodies. There were no lead vests for them. I was told I was doing good by helping to remove ringworm. If I knew what dangers the children were facing, I would never have cooperated. Never!"

Because the whole body was exposed to the rays, the genetic makeup of the children was often altered, affecting the next generation. We watch the woman with the distorted face explain, "All three of my children have the same cancers my family suffered. Are you going to tell me that's a coincidence?"

The majority of the victims were Moroccan because they were the most numerous of the Sephardi immigrants. The generation that was poisoned became the country's perpetual poor and criminal class. It didn't make sense. The Moroccans who fled to France became prosperous and highly educated. The common explanation was that France got the rich, thus smart ones. The real explanation is that every French Moroccan child didn't have his brain cells fried with gamma rays.

The film made it perfectly plain that this operation was no accident. The dangers of x-rays had been known for over forty years. We read the official guidelines for x-ray treatment in 1952. The maximum dose to be given a child in Israel was .5 rad. There was no mistake made. The children were deliberately poisoned.

David Deri makes the point that only Sephardi children received the x-rays: "I was in class and the men came to take us on a tour. They asked our names. The Ashkenazi children were told to return to their seats. The dark children were put on the bus."

The film presents a historian who first gives a potted history of the eugenics movement. In a later sound bite, he declares that the ringworm operation was a eugenics program aimed at weeding out the perceived weak strains of society. The Moroccan lady is back on the screen. "It was a Holocaust, a Sephardi Holocaust. And what I want to know is why no one stood up to stop it."

David Deri, on film and then as a panel member, relates the frustration he encountered when trying to find his childhood medical records. "All I wanted to know was what they did to me. I wanted to know who authorized it. I wanted to trace the chain of command. But the Health Ministry told me my records were missing." Boaz Lev, the Health Ministry's spokesman chimes in: "Almost all the records were burned in a fire."

We are told that a US law in the late '40s put a stop to the human radiation experiments conducted on prisoners, the mentally feeble and the like. The American atomic program needed a new source of human lab rats and the Israeli government supplied it. Here was the government cabinet at the time of the ringworm atrocities:

Prime Minister - David Ben Gurion; Finance Minister - Eliezer Kaplan; Settlement Minister - Levi Eshkol; Foreign Minister - Moshe Sharrett; Health Minister - Yosef Burg; Labor Minister - Golda Meir; Police Minister - Amos Ben Gurion.

The highest ranking non-cabinet post belonged to the Director General of the Defence Ministry, Shimon Peres.

That a program involving the equivalent of billions of dollars of American government funds should be unknown to the Prime Minister of cash-strapped Israel is ridiculous. Ben Gurion had to have been in on the horrors and undoubtedly chose his son to be Police Minister in case anyone interfered with them.

Finance Minister Eliezer Kaplan was rewarded for eternity with a hospital named after him near Rehovot. But he's not alone in this honor. Chaim Sheba, who ran Ringworm Incorporated, had a whole medical complex named after him. Needless to say, if there is an ounce of decency in the local medical profession, those hospital names will have to change.

After the film ended, there was a panel discussion which included a Moroccan singer, David Edri, head of the Compensation Committee for Ringworm X-Ray Victims, and Boaz Lev, a spokesman for the Ministry Of Health.

TV host Dan Margalit tried to put a better face on what he'd witnessed. He explained meekly that "the state was poor. It was a matter of day to day survival." Then he stopped. He knew there was no excusing the atrocities which the Sephardi children endured.

But it was the Moroccan singer who summed up the experience best. "It's going to hurt, but the truth has to be told. If not, the wounds will never heal."

There is one person alive who knows the truth: Shimon Peres. The only way to get to the truth and start the healing is to investigate him for his role in the mass poisoning of over 100,000 Sephardi children and youth.

But here is why that won't happen. The film was aired at the same time as the highest-rated TV show of the year, the finale of Israel's talent-hunt show: "A Star Is Born." The next day, the newly-born star's photo took up half the front pages. There was not a word about "The Ringworm Children" in any paper, nor on the Internet. Until now.

Se um qualquer "ataque" por parte do Irão aos EUA, que ocorra nesta altura certa, que mais convém ao Ocidente, for anunciado pelos média controlados - que, convenientemente, não irão mencionar todo o historial de "ataques de bandeira falsa" feitos pelo governo estadunidense, com o objectivo de providenciar um pretexto para iniciar guerras no passado - podem ter a certeza de que foram os próprios EUA ou Israel quem orquestrou tal ataque.
Os iranianos não são estúpidos e têm feito tudo para evitar este conflito. Não têm nada a ganhar em provocar o Ocidente, que os esmagará numa possível guerra.
O Ocidente, por seu lado, tem grandes interesses em que tal ataque, supostamente iraniano, ocorra, para, desta maneira, camuflar os seus ataques, e possível invasão, como sendo meras respostas e um exercício de autodefesa.
Ao que parece, o início de uma possível guerra poderá estar planeado só para daqui a uns meses, quando o Ocidente esteja preparado para o bloqueio do Estreito de Ormuz. (Será que até que se estabeleça efectiva e temporariamente o oleoduto de Abu Dhabi-Fujairah como um ponto de trânsito, que permitirá evitar que o petróleo oriundo do Golfo Pérsico passe por este estreito?) Mas ainda que sejam tomadas certas medidas e que não haja guerra, mas apenas sanções e consequente bloqueio do estreito, é de esperar que o preço do petróleo suba consideravelmente...
Entretanto, os EUA continuam a colocar tropas perto da fronteira iraniana e a tomar outras medidas de preparação para uma possível guerra.

Ex-Israeli Intelligence Officer: “Pearl Harbor” Style Attack Will Be Pretext For War On Iran

Jerusalem Post article implies US will stage provocation to justify military assault

Former Israeli intelligence officer Avi Perry writes that a “surprise” Pearl Harbor-style Iranian attack on an American warship in the Persian Gulf will provide the pretext for the US to launch all-out warfare against Iran.

Given the fact that former Vice President Dick Cheney’s office openly considered staging a false flag attack on a US vessel in the Persian Gulf to blame it on Iran as a pretext for war, Perry’s summation of how “2012 will see to a new war,” cannot be taken lightly.

Under the headline ‘The looming war with Iran’, Perry writes:

Iran, just like Nazi Germany in the 1940s, will take the initiative and “help” the US president and the American public make up their mind by making the first move, by attacking a US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.

The Iranian attack on an American military vessel will serve as a justification and a pretext for a retaliatory move by the US military against the Iranian regime. The target would not be Iran’s nuclear facilities. The US would retaliate by attacking Iran’s navy, their military installations, missile silos, airfields. The US would target Iran’s ability to retaliate, to close down the Strait of Hormuz. The US would then follow by targeting the regime itself.

Elimination of Iran’s nuclear facilities? Yes. This part would turn out to be the final act, the grand finale. It might have been the major target, had the US initiated the attack. However, under this “Pearl Harbor” scenario, in which Iran had launched a “surprise” attack on the US navy, the US would have the perfect rationalization to finish them off, to put an end to this ugly game.

Perry’s use of quotation marks around the word “surprise” comes across as a literary device to imply that the so-called “surprise” attack will not be a surprise at all.

Of course, the Pearl Harbor attack, which provided the pretext for America’s formal entry into World War Two, was not a “surprise” by any means, it was known well ahead of time.

Released Freedom of Information Act files prove that weeks before the December 7 attack by the Japanese, the United States Navy had intercepted eighty-three messages from Admiral Yamamoto which gave them details of precisely when and where the attack would take place.

It’s also completely nonsensical that Iran would actively seek to provide the world’s pre-eminent nuclear superpower with an easy excuse to justify an attack by deliberately targeting US warships in the Persian Gulf. Perry’s article seems to be a tongue-in-cheek admission that the US or Israel will manufacture such an attack.

This presumption need not delve into the murky realm of conspiracy theories – history tells us that fake naval attacks have been staged on numerous occasions to hoodwink the American people into supporting wars of aggression.

Remember the Maine? The battleship USS Maine blew up while it was stationed in Havana harbor in February 1898. Although a Navy investigation could not find the cause of the explosion, the American media, led by pioneer of “yellow journalism” William Randolph Hearst, immediately blamed Spanish saboteurs, whipping the public into a war fever.

When Hearst sent his reporter Frederick Remington to investigate, little of note could be established about the disaster. When Remington asked to be recalled, Hearst told him, “Please remain. You furnish the pictures, I’ll furnish the war.”

“Hundreds of editorials demanded that the Maine and American honor be avenged. Many Americans agreed. Soon a rallying cry could be heard everywhere — in the papers, on the streets, and in the halls of Congress: “Remember the Maine! To hell with Spain.”

As a result of an incident that many consider to either be an accident or a deliberate false flag attack by the US on its own ship, the US was at war with Spain within months.

Over 60 years later, another staged naval event, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, was used as a pretext for the United States to launch the Vietnam war.

President Johnson told the American public that North Vietnamese torpedo boats launched an “unprovoked attack” against a U.S. destroyer on “routine patrol” in the Tonkin Gulf. Leaked cables and recordings of White House telephone conversations later proved that the incident was completely manufactured, and that “our destroyers were just shooting at phantom targets — there were no PT boats there,” according to Navy squadron commander James Stockdale, who was flying over the scene that night.

There was almost a 21st century version mirror of the Gulf of Tonkin incident in January 2008, when the US government announced that it had been “moments” away from opening fire on a group of Iranian patrol boats in the Strait of Hormuz after the boats allegedly broadcast a warning that they were about to attack a US vessel.

The Iranian warning later turned out to be of dubious origin, but the incident led to a discussion in Vice-President Dick Cheney’s office about how to start a war with Iran by launching a false flag attack at sea, according to Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh.

The January 2008 Strait of Hormuz incident taught Cheney and other administration insiders that, “If you get the right incident, the American public will support it”. Hersh said: “There were a dozen ideas proffered about how to trigger a war. The one that interested me the most was why don’t we build, we in ‘our shipyard’, – build four or five boats that look like Iranian PT boats. Put Navy seals on them with a lot of arms. And next time one of our boats goes to the Straits of Hormuz, start a shoot-up. Might cost some lives”.

Given the dangerous nature of overlapping Iranian and US/Israeli naval drills set to take place in the same region at some point within the next two weeks, the potential for another staged incident at sea that will be exploited as a pretext for war remains a potent threat.

Para que tenham todos verdadeira consciência do quão possível é uma guerra no futuro próximo, queria aqui deixar um acrescento à minha colocação anterior sobre este mesmo tema, consistindo esta última numa pequena série de chamadas de atenção que penso serem importantes fazer...
(A continuação do aviso que aqui deixo, para que se preparem como puderem para o que aí possa vir, é válida, não só para a presente situação no Médio Oriente, como para o futuro próximo, enquanto se mantiver a situação de tensão existente entre os EUA e a Rússia.)

Reparem em como, com o declínio que se observa já das economias ocidentais em geral, não é só a nível privado e familiar que começa a haver cada vez menos dinheiro, mas também (como saberão) a nível dos próprios Estados. E em como no dinheiro à disposição dos vários Estados está incluído, obviamente, também o dinheiro à disposição das suas várias Forças Armadas. As quais estão também já a ser alvo de cortes orçamentais. Querendo isto dizer que, daqui para a frente - e esta parte é mesmo muito importante - é também o poderio militar de todos os governos ocidentais que irá também entrar em declínio. Sendo claro que, nunca no futuro próximo ou longínquo, irão os EUA e restantes países da OTAN ser tão poderosos militarmente como são agora. O que faz com que este intervalo de tempo que estamos agora a atravessar, em que os vários países ocidentais estão ainda no seu auge, em termos de poderio militar, e têm ainda muito petróleo à sua disposição, seja a melhor oportunidade de sempre para conquistar quaisquer países que sejam. E se é dominar todo o mundo que querem, na parte que toca à intervenção militar, constitui este intervalo de tempo na nossa História simplesmente a melhor oportunidade que estes alguma vez irão ter para fazê-lo. Pois, daqui para a frente, irão as reservas energéticas à disposição dos vários países ocidentais entrar em sério declínio, enquanto os países exportadores de petróleo, como é o caso da Rússia - principal opositor dos planos de dominação mundial das elites ocidentais - irão cada vez menos exportar este precioso recurso e - com a cada vez maior quantidade relativa deste líquido que irão ter, comparativamente aos países ocidentais - irão gradual e rapidamente ganhar uma séria vantagem militar, e não só, relativamente ao Ocidente, à medida que este último - cujas fontes deste recurso são essencialmente os estados, por enquanto vassalos, do Médio Oriente - for tendo cada vez menos petróleo à sua disposição.
Por outras palavras, a quererem os nossos governos invadir ainda mais países estrangeiros, constitui este pequeno intervalo de tempo, correspondente aos anos em que ainda estamos, em termos de oferta mundial, no chamado Pico do Petróleo, a melhor oportunidade histórica para fazê-lo. Tornando-se uma aventura militar deste tipo cada vez menos provável daqui para a frente, devido aos cada vez maiores custos e dificuldades em fazê-lo, derivados da cada vez maior escassez de petróleo, essencial para qualquer esforço de guerra.
Tudo isto para dizer que, se alguma vez estivemos, ou estivermos, seriamente perto de uma guerra, possivelmente nuclear e a nível mundial ou "apenas" de mais uma guerra no Médio Oriente, esta é simplesmente a altura em que considero ser mais provável tal acontecer.
Se irá ou não haver guerra, como disse, não sei... Só os loucos que nos governam é que o saberão.
A única coisa que posso fazer é alertar-vos, mais uma vez, para que estejam, como puderem, preparados para quaisquer repercussões que possam acontecer em consequência de tudo isto e, se é um futuro que querem ter, aconselhar-vos a que pressionem os vossos governos para que deixem o Irão e restante Médio Oriente em Paz e não façam uma coisa destas.
Para complementar o que aqui disse na minha colocação anterior, sobre precauções que possam querer tomar, queria também aqui deixar um outro importante documento, emitido pelo governo português no passado recente, inserido na mesma campanha que mencionei.
